RECYCLING AVAILABLE TO SANDUSKY TOWNSHIP RESIDENTS

     On the 2nd Saturday of Every month between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., Sandusky Township has recycling collection for the following items:

    These materials are collected by F.S.I. in Clyde and separated on a conveyor sorting system.  They can, therefore, be mixed together (co-           mingled).

GLASS JARS AND BOTTLES - Rinse and clean, remove lids.  No window glass, dishes, cookware, light bulbs, mirrors, ceramic or china.

STEEL/TIN CANS -  Clean completely and remove labels.

PLASTIC BOTTLES - Bottle form only, no bags, motor oil containers, buckets, lids, butter tubs, plant trays, etc.

NEWSPAPER - Leave inserts inside paper.

ALUMINUM BEVERAGE CANS - No foil wrappers.

STEEL FOOD CANS - Please rinse and separate from aluminum cans.

MAGAZINES - Any glossy or shiny paper such as catalogs.  Remove all plastic mailing bags.

OFFICE PAPER - Any color of copy paper, no Tyvek mailers, copy paper wrappers, construction paper or paper in contact with food.

These materials are collected by Sandusky County Recycling and Litter Prevention.  They should, therefore, be separated.

CARDBOARD - Corrugated cardboard only (wave structure in middle), cereal boxes and other containers of that type are not cardboard (they are a material known as “ground wood”)

 HARDCOVER BOOKS - Place in cardboard boxes, no three-ring or spiral binders.

PAPERBACK BOOKS AND PHONEBOOKS - Place in cardboard boxes

PRINTER CARTRIDGES - Any laser or inkjet cartridge that is not “remanufactured” – place in plastic ziplock bag or cardboard box

 TENNIS SHOES - Any rubber soled athletic shoe of any brand.  No sandals, boots, casual or dress shoes, flip-flops, hikers, cleats, etc.  Shoes can not have mud, paint or tar/sealer on them.  Any metal eyelets must first be cut out of shoe with scissors.  Do not tie shoes together.

LEAD ACID BATTERIES - Car, truck, trailer or marine batteries.  Also known as “wet cell” batteries.
